At my fourth and last Olympic Games I will receive a big honor. As mayn of you already know, I was selected to carry the Austrian flag at the Opening Ceremony in the evening today. That is really special for me.
Two Olympic medals so far
I was without winning a medal until the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. In Lillehammer 1994 I crashed in the downhill and also in Nagano four years later I didn't win a medal. But four years ago I finally won the silver medal in the combined event and bronze in the downhill and celebrated two medals.
Good memories at Sestriere
Sestriere was a good terrain for me so far. Two years ago I won the small crystal globe in the downhill ranking and 1997 I became World Champion - in Sestriere as well - in the combined event. I hope that this is a good omen.
Knee is getting better
In the last two days I trained in Meransen and was on my ski for the first time since my crash in the giant slalom in Cortina. And I have to say that I was satisfied with the first tests.
