It was a lot of speculation over the last days and weeks and today I can tell you: After 17 years in the World Cup, 46 wins and 110 placings on the podium I end my career. The reason for this decision isn't because I am tired of skiing but a happy news: I am pregnant and will become a baby in the springtime. Therefore I will spend my time mostly with my private life in the future.
I can look back to a great career with some downs but with a lot of highs. If someone would have told me 17 years ago that I will win 46 World Cup races I would have thought he was crazy. I am actually really proud that I have fought myself back to the top so many times after my bad injuries. I don't want to highlight any victory or medal because for me the whole career was a success. There are so many races and experiences that I won't ever forget and they make me proud when I look back. But now the time has come for a new period in my life and I am really looking forward to it.
I want to thank Dr. Raimund Harreither who supported my in the last year as a head sponsor and with whom I will be working with in the future as well.
And of course I want to thank you all for the great supporting over the last years and I wish you all the best.
